We are proud to support Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots programme. They are making positive change happen – for our communities, for animals and for the environment. We donate £1 from each sling we sell from our website to this programme.
JANE GOODALL’S ROOTS & SHOOTS
Roots & Shoots is guided by the founding principles and extraordinary vision of Dr Jane Goodall, renowned ethologist, environmentalist and humanitarian. At the very heart of the programme is her belief that young people who are informed, empowered and realise that what they do truly makes a difference, can indeed change the world.
Roots & Shoots offers a wealth of resources and networking opportunities for students and teachers. Their uniquely designed programmes connect people of every age, race, culture, religion or economic background in a vibrant international network and offers opportunities for every individual to:
- learn about humanitarian, animal and environmental issues affecting our planet.
- share insights, ideas and inspiration for making positive change happen.
- grow in ways that enrich lives as individuals, as members of the local community and as international citizens of the world.
Their MISSION
To foster respect and compassion for all living things, to promote understanding of all cultures and beliefs and to inspire each individual to take action to make the world a better place for people, animals and the environment.
Their GOALS ARE INTERNATIONAL
- To implement positive change through active learning about, caring for and interacting with the environment.
- To demonstrate care and concern for all animals.
- To enhance understanding among individuals of different cultures, ethnic groups, religions, socio-economic levels and nations through an international communications network.
- To help young people develop self-respect, confidence in themselves and hope for the future.

Building Bond Project
The Building Bonds Project is designed to help families and their children to be close, especially in times of crisis, need or trouble. They believe that every child should have the chance to enjoy close and loving contact with their primary caregiver. A comfortable, well fitting hands-free carrier will enable these essential bonds to form, building a happy brain.
The Building Bonds Project fits and donates slings and carriers to families in health, social or financial difficulties, who are unable to source their own carrier easily. Their aim is to break down the barriers to babywearing, making carriers accessible to those who need them most.
Based in Sheffield, but they can help families further afield if they are referred by their local sling library or consultant.
They are committed to reducing their impact on the environment and welcome donations of carriers in excellent used condition, depending on current demand. Please get in touch with them directly to discuss any donations of carriers through their contact form at https://building-bonds.org/contact/.
Their project is staffed by volunteers; but there are still costs to be incurred; such as buying carriers for very specific needs, making leaflets, website hosting and more.
